About Us
Sisters for Peace Initiative (SPI) is a women-led and women-founded non-governmental organization that works on the empowerment of women and girls to participate in addressing the root causes and effects of violent conflict, prevention of violent extremism, and promoting cooperative approaches to Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.
Mission:
To build women and girls’ capacity to prevent and respond to violent conflict through exchange learning, knowledge mobilization, dialogues, economic development, policy advocacy, rehabilitation, and training..
Vision:
We envision a world comprising a vibrant movement of women and girls spearheading peace and prevention of Violent extremism.
SPECIFIC GOALS
1. To adopt a human security approach with a focus on gender-based analysis in peace building.
2. To promote women’s active participation and leadership by removing barriers in the peace and security sector.
3. To address factors contributing to Violent Conflict & Violent Extremism through comprehensive strategies.
4. Conduct rigorous research, enhance the capacity of religious leaders, actively engage in conflict resolution, and build strong partnerships to navigate the evolving peace and security landscape.
